As a founding member of Acosta Danza and a former First Soloist of Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Raúl has performed and choreographed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the Royal Opera House, Sadler's Wells, Royal Albert Hall, New York City Center, John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and Théâtre National de Chaillot, Paris. Raúl has been the recipient of the UNEAC National Choreography Award and the Villanueva Award. Raúl is also a dance filmmaker with some of his short-films screened at international festivals.

The Lion King marks Raúl's West End debut.
